Dr. Rainer Taëni

Rainer obtained a Humboldt- Fellowship for doing research on modern drama in West Germany. From 1968 to '71 he lectured in English at the University of Cologne. These were the years of student unrest in Europe, and as he had sided with the students against the academic establishment, his position eventually became untenable. In early 1972 he left Cologne for Berlin, where he co-founded the street theatre company- 'Mixed Media Co.', which was then invited to represent West Germany in the cultural programme at the Munich Olympic Games. The production, entitled 'Olympia Towards 2000' was in many ways prophetic about the way the Games were to develop. Two years later, under the auspices of the Goethe Institute - official German cultural Institution - Rainer toured a number of countries, including Greece, Yugoslavia, Australia and New Zealand, showing the film that was made about it and giving public lectures.

He was at that time a celebrity in 'alternative' Germany due to a book he had written when he was involved in the university conflicts, entitled 'Latent Anxiety - the Taboo of Defensive Society'. The book, hugely successful amongst the student generation, was later reprinted by the prestigious Rowohlt Verlag as 'Das Angst-Tabu und die Befreiung' ('The Anxiety Taboo and Liberation'). The first part, under the title 'The Taboo against Living' was also published in English (by Alternative Book Coop, 1978).

In 1976 Rainer returned to Australia to begin three years of Primal Therapy (later documented in the book 'Fühlen als Therapie'), as well as training in Rebirthing and intimately acquainting himself with 'A Course in Miracles' and other holistic healing methods. He founded the Yulunga Healing Centre in northern NSW (New South Wales), Australia. Facilitating personal growth workshops over many years he has developed 'Creative Refocussing', a simple but and highly effective technique for dissolving the obstacles on the spiritual path.

Since 1983, he has been facilitating intensive workshops, teaching and applying CR in Australia and a number of European countries (Germany, Russia, Austria, Italy and Switzerland). He has also written several books about this subject, the latest being in the form of a fairy tale novel, 'Der Weg nach Yulunga' (Arbor Verlag, Freiamt, Germany). A subject which interests him greatly is 'Education in Human Values', to which his contributions are fairytales for children. Inspired by the success of the tales which were published as audiocassettes in Germany, he has now begun to publish these and other stories in a series devoted to dealing with the Human Values of Love, Truth, Peace, Right Conduct and Non-violence.

Although these days somewhat slowed down by Parkinson's Disease, Rainer continues travelling overseas on a regular basis, lecturing and facilitating intensive workshops as well training other healers in the technique of Creative Refocussing. He is a practitioner of Primal Therapy, Holotropic Breathing (Stan Grof), and numerous other healing methods.

Reawakening to Love
This is meant as a forum for all who are interested in removing the obstacles to Love within themselves, and thereby creating not only a happier relationship to themselves and others, but also contributing towards the creation of a more loving and peaceful society. He has a passion for contributing to an improvement in the quality of life on our planet through increasing awareness and Reawakening to Love. He has written several books on this, and is also running intensive 3- to 6-day workshops on this subject, (in Australia on the North Coast of NSW and in the German-speaking countries of Europe). Creative Refocussing technique is designed to uncover the precise nature of the limiting ego in ourselves as a prerequisite to living our Truth, which is LOVE. In the workshops this is taught in an intensive initiation process, in conjunction with a number of REBIRTHING sessions including elements from 'A COURSE IN MIRACLES'. He welcomes enquiries as well as contributions towards this topic in any form whatever from others with similar interests.
