Spirituality is the same for everyone everywhere, whether a thousand years ago, now, or a thousand years later. This is because the world that supports life, the real world (The Kingdom of God) is the only expression of spirituality. Humans can belong to it intellectually and emotionally. As there is only one Creator for the whole Universe, there cannot be different expressions of spirituality. Moreover, God is beyond our material possession, and even beyond our attempts to catch God with our faiths and worships. God is the Super-intelligent system existing in the Universe, and humans, as the creation of God, must belong to that system in every way. God can be approached only through love for the creations of God, and this alone will support the system of God. Kindergarten stories, both old and new, should no longer confuse us. Such projection of God as somebody sitting there to send unbelievers to fire has turned many into atheists. The real atheists are those who do not follow God's system in life. Einstein: "God is subtle, but he is not malicious." Einstein believed in "Spinoza's God who reveals himself in the harmony of all that exists, not in a God who concerns himself with the fate and actions of men". The easy religions that give importance to faith and worship have been counter-productive in the expression of spirituality because spirituality always requires conscious effort to adhere to the sensibility of the soul when the social institutions promote parochialism. The never-ending source of knowledge is the reality. Its way alone will support life as the mind that is aware of it feels the pulse of life in Nature.

The expression of spirituality by humans is in supporting the system of God, and not in their adherence to fanciful thoughts. God has no religion, and so is not partial to anybody who prays. Religions make the concept of God very parochial, and this parochialism degrades the consciousness of the people. Even when the Koran asserts the supremacy of the Creator ("Men, serve your Lord, who has created you and those who have gone before you, so that you may guard yourselves against evil; who has made the earth a bed for you and the sky a dome, and has sent down water from the sky to bring forth fruits for your sustenance. Do not knowingly set up other gods beside God."), some followers of the religion behave as if Allah is the product of faith and language. Allah's way is the way of the Truth. All the troubles in this world can be attributed to this. The culprits are the religions. Ignorance is still armed with power and weapons. In the last decade of the closed millennium we witnessed in industrially advanced countries nerve gas attacks, and suicides conducted by spiritual groups of educated people. All these show that mentality still destroys spirituality.

Some religions knowingly support falsifications in their attempt to establish the association of divinity, and such efforts actually promote psychic disorders in the followers. Spirituality actually expresses the inherent sensibility of the mind, and it is not a product of any religion or region. By its inherent nature, human mind is not limited by the limitations of any region, religion, political group, or any such delimiting factor. When these factors which are alien to its constitution try to influence it, the mind becomes parochial in its expression. Though the prophets expressed the timeless aspect of the mind the religions that took shape out of them neglect this aspect when they insist on faiths manufactured by them as a sign of solidarity with their parochialism. Any attempt to link spirituality with faith will result in the falsification of it because spirituality is not a product of conscious thinking, and so it is not the product of any civilization. When the establishments that exist in the name of spirituality din in every ear falsifications, and also on the importance of the unimportant things like foolish rituals, the society gets shaped according to their demands.
According to Toju, the 17th century Japanese philosopher, what one is, is one's true Self, or Ryochi. Ryochi is also called 'alone being', or 'alone knowing'. It is a condition related to the essence of the Self, the aspect of the mind that is beyond all personal judgments that are determined by the limitations of experience. Ryochi is human love, immortal, all-knowing good. Wang-Yang-Ming, the Chinese father of Japanese philosophy, said: "In every heart there dwelleth a Sejin (Sage). Only man will not steadfastly believe it- therefore hath the whole remained buried." The references here are to the part of the human mind that can reflect the expression of the best intelligent system existing in the Universe- God. The expression of this part of the mind really is spirituality.

Due to the consistent development of rationalism over many centuries, confusion, and sometimes monomania, has encroached into almost all areas of human activities. This comes due to motivated reasoning. The expression of Pure Reason is fundamental to all the religions that we are familiar with; it is either the source, or the aim of all of them. It reflects the sensibility of the soul for the pulse of life, the greatest creation of God, and the highest form of energy. Emerson (1803-82, one of America's most influential authors and thinkers): "The one thing in the world of value is the active soul. This every man is entitled to, this every man contains within him, although, in almost all men, obstructed, and as yet unborn. The soul active sees absolute truth, and utters truth." The religious leaders are not the dispensers of spirituality. Really, if religions should express spirituality, they must try to enlighten everyone of Pure Reason, the expression of the inner mind that is the basis of spirituality.

The expression of culture is in the expression of the spirit part of the mind for the objects that belong to the system of life. Over the years, due to the effects of cumulative thinking, humans give importance to their achievements to the effect that they equate culture with civilization. Consequently they wrongly associate culture with the objects of civilization. This has also affected the concept of art and its appreciation (aesthetics) to such an extent that all these falsifications make it really meaningless. The greatest artist is the system of life, and there is a purpose for its art. It supports life and link with that is necessary for the sanity of the mind. Emerson: "The swallow over my window should interweave that thread or straw he carries in his bill into my web also." Appreciation of God's art upgrades the sensibility of the mind. This happens only when the shift of appreciation takes place from that of man's creations to that of God's creations. Since the beauty of God's creations is limitless the mind never dries up of emotions.

Though arts of culture began to take shape as the expression of this inherent appreciation of the mind for the objects of culture, they moved away from this essential factor due to the superimposition of the objects of culture by the instruments of civilization. Consequently, the importance shifted from the real objects to its reflections on the mind, and its reproductions that we call art. The net result of the present grave tilt is the loss of the inherent sensibility of the mind, the sensibility which alone can bring meaning and happiness to human life. But our real appreciation must be for the reality, and not for the reflection. The reflection of food in the mirror can never satisfy our hunger. Aestheticism must be based on the sensibility of the mind for the pulse of life in Nature that includes human beings also.

When Socrates and Mohammed that said there is only one God, the mob turned against them. Poetic imagination should never try to play fancy with God. The soul has only one God, but the mind creates many. The Koran: "Those that serve other gods besides God follow nothing but idle fancies and preach nothing but falsehoods." Still God is made the product of language and customs by the ignorant. Ignorance of the expression of spirituality is the main factor that creates trouble and destruction everywhere in the name of religion. All the rituals and gestures and killings that these religions practice are mere trade practices, they are just expressions of parochialism and ignorance, expressions of falsifications. Spirituality is more important than mentality.
